Reports and Submissions

Creating, submitting, and tracking reports — for staff and reporters alike.

Reports let people submit information to your organization in a structured, encrypted format. This is used for tips, incident reports, or any situation where someone needs to share something securely.

Submitting a report

From the Reports page, click New Report. Fill in:

  • Title — a short summary that helps your team triage the report
  • Category — select from the categories your operator has defined (if any)
  • Body — the main content of your report. This is encrypted before it leaves your browser.
  • Custom fields — any additional structured fields your operator has set up
  • Attachments — upload files if relevant. Files are encrypted before upload.

Click Submit when you are done. Your report appears in the list with a status of “Open.”

Tracking your reports

Your Reports page shows all reports you have submitted. Each one displays:

  • Title and category
  • Status: Open (submitted), Claimed (someone is working on it), or Resolved (handled)
  • Date submitted

Click a report to see the full thread, including any responses from your team.

Responding to reports

If you have the right permissions, you can claim a report to indicate you are handling it. Once claimed, you can:

  • Write replies in the report thread — all messages are encrypted
  • Update the status as you work through it
  • Mark it as resolved when complete

For reporters

If you have been given a reporter account, the Reports page is your primary interface. You can submit reports and track their status, but you will not see calls, notes, or other parts of the system. This is by design — it protects everyone’s privacy.

Attachments

Files attached to reports are encrypted on your device before being uploaded. The server never sees the original file. Only authorized team members can decrypt and view attachments.
